With the information
gathered about the site or existing building and your
'brief' requirements, preliminary concept designs are
prepared for discussion. These are normally in
the form of hand sketches of concept drawings.
From
the preliminary designs a single concept is developed
further. Normally at this stage the design is
modeled on the computer to create a three dimensional
virtual building. This enables you to visualise
the project and view any aspect of the interior, exterior
or siting The computer model also allows accurate
modeling of sun and shade to the building and compliance
with District Plan sunlight and height planes.
At
this stage a Preliminary Estimate of Cost can be prepared
by a Quantity Surveyor to access the likely cost of
the design against the project budget.
