To provide ecologically sound and innovative buildings to minimise our impact on the earth's resources.

To provide successful designs that will enable the client, the user and the community to live and work within a healthy, stimulating environment.

PRACTICE PROFILE

Don Jamieson Architecture provides professional architectural services to a range of clients including national and local government, commercial companies, education and community organisations, construction companies, private individuals as well as other professionals.

The services provided include all aspects of architecture, site analysis, feasibility studies, design, Resource Management assessments, cost analysis, contract and detailed documentation, contract administration and post occupancy evaluation. Also provided are specialist design services in Passive Solar, Building Biology, Electrobiology and Feng Shui.

We work closely with other consultants including Structural, Fire and Services Engineers, Landscape Architects, Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers to provide a full range of services to all projects.

The practice of Don Jamieson Architecture is a limited liability company and has been in existence since January 1992.

Don Jamieson Architecture is a NZIA Practice and a member and an Accredited Professional of the New Zealand Green Building Council.

DESIGN APPROACH

We work in a participatory way, with the client and users fully involved in the design process.
Particular emphasis is placed on the provision of environmentally responsible and energy efficient design solutions, which also create interior environments that are 'healthy' for the users.
We bring a diverse range of cultural experiences and backgrounds into the process.

THE PEOPLE

Being a small practice, we are able to offer personal accountability and service.

Our team consists of:

Don Jamieson - Managing Director, Architect and Solar Designer plus an architect, interior designer, architectural technician and office administrator.

Don Jamieson ANZIA, Managing Director

Completed his Architecture Degree at Victoria University, Wellington in 1981. Since that time he has worked in a variety of practices in Wellington and Sydney, before establishing the practice of Don Jamieson Architect in January 1992.

Don Jamieson is a member on New Zealand Institute of Architects, Solar Action, Building Biology and Ecology Institute, is a BRANZ Green Home Scheme assessor and has a Certificate in Permaculture Design. He has a reasonable understanding of Spanish and Te Reo Maori.
